The JM Group is working with a, who are looking for a Unix Engineer/Administrator in a contract position to be based in South London.
The ideal will have the following skills and experience:
Responsibilities are listed below:
*Serve as the lead Unix/Linux Engineer on core OS vulnerability identification and remediation strategies for Capital businesses globally.
*Lead the development of Linux/Unix vulnerability management solutions that can be leveraged globally by multiple service providers.
*Provide guidance and consultation to Capital businesses on remediation strategies and solutions specific to each business environment.
*Evaluate and coordinate with external service providers and business units to ensure operational processes and SLAs are in alignment with the Global VM Standards.
*Serve as the technical lead on other Unix/Linux initiatives that impact enterprise security posture to include Lifecycle Management, Obsolescence and Build
*Assist in driving operational excellence through all environments and initiatives working in conjunction with Capital teams globally as well as strategic partners/vendors.
Skill set should ideally include some of the following:
*Red Hat Linux and/or Solaris UNIX Systems
*Shell scripting in bourne (sh), Korn (ksh) and Bash.
*Python scripting: on Linux environments
*Experience of Operating Systems and systems administration
*Unix shell scripting.
*Experience with task automation in large scale environments and customizations and monitoring via shell scripting on UNIX and Linux.
*Build experience Redhat Linux Kickstart installations and customization.
*Build experience with Solaris Jumpstart installations and customization.
*Experience in Redhat Linux versions 4, 5 and 6
*Experience in Solaris UNIX versions 8, 9 and 10, and zones.
